Beware Facebook have changed the privacy settings for your account. Today I received this message:

In their helpfulness, ostensibly so that everyone can find each other more easily when searching FB, the powers that be at Facebook have changed to default settings so that it will make your Birthday [=Date of Birth] publicly available to everyone - not only to your friends. Given that this is a classic security question used by banks and the like, you may like to consider whether you want everyone in the world to have access to it. I would recommend hiding the year of your birth on your FB account, not only because it makes those us who are older feel less depressed, but to protect this key piece of personal data.
